Celestials
Summary
Celestials are a wild race of huge majestic space butterflies, attracted to light. They can inhabit space because the only nourishment is solar clouds. Celestials are usually hunted for their Ichor, a valuable glowing substance used for cosmetics, medicine, and even weaponry. But do not let their cute appearance confuse you – they are extremely aggressive and are capable of tearing a spaceship apart. Especially when it comes to protecting their newborn.
History
For thousands of years, Celestials have been at odds with Telossians, another race that had established their own civilization on this wild planet. They had been attacking the Telossi settlements until the latter started mercilessly eradicating them. Only when they realized they’ve brought these magnificent creatures to the brink of extinction, they decided to put them into reservations. They placed powerful light beacons outside of the planet’s atmosphere. These beacons attract Celestials with light, making sure they never look back at Azure.
Habitats
Celestials inhabit Azure, a cloudy planet with no solid land besides many small floating islands all around. They dwell in specified reservations or in wild areas defined by the Azurian Council, where no other living beings are not allowed. Trespassing those reservations is not only illegal but extremely dangerous, because Celestials usually attack in packs. The best way to survive against them is to dim all lights and operate in stealth mode, occasionally firing at them from a long distance.
